Downpayments - Do you take them?

We do not take down payments on re-roofs unless it involves a custom ordered item that is not returnable.  As for 99% of the roofing projects we are involved in we do not take a down payment.  If a Roofing Contractor asks for a down payment be sure to stay within the limits of the law!  The California Law in regard to “Down Payments” states: “THE DOWN PAYMENT MAY NOT EXCEED $1,000 OR 10 PERCENT OF THE CONTRACT PRICE, WHICHEVER IS LESS."
